ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I was interested in art since my teens, when I started drawing and painting as a hobby. I
spent many years as a scientist and an engineer in the silicon industry. In the last fifteen
years I dedicated my time to art, painting and taking classes and workshops in local
colleges and art centers, splitting my time between studying different techniques and
working on my art, figure drawings, oil painting and print making.
My style has changed after shoulder surgery. I started to explore other mediums such as
painting with acrylic and working with mixed media to incorporate textures into
paintings.
In recent works I used fabric as part of my paintings. I enjoys the process of painting with the fabric and incorporating it as a sculpture into the painting. My subject can be
described as the “Fabric of Life”, examining the connection between humans and their
meaning in the world.
I participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including winning the prestigious
best of show at San Ramon wind and art festival.
