ARTIST'S STATEMENT — CECILIA MASES

I love clouds, dramatic skies and stormy waters. The ocean, mountains and changing skies fuel my work. My inspiration comes from a mix of the nature here in California and memories of Sweden, where I was born. Hiking or walking the dog; I often must stop what I do and take a picture of clouds building up in the horizon, a sunset or the waves crashing against the shore. These pictures are my inspiration in the studio where I paint my landscapes in acrylic or oil on canvas.
