Judi Keyani finds that the most exciting part of painting - in oil or in pastel - is in the process of doing it. The subjects of her paintings are the means of working with oil and pastel to convey her responses to those subjects. Using composition, value, line, and color, she presents her personal interpretations in landscapes, still lifes, and figures.

Keyani was born in Minnesota and came to California in the early 60s; after studying and practicing nursing, she returned to her love of doing artwork in a more dedicated way. She has been a member of Gallery 9 since 1997 and is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. She has participated in many painting workshops both in California and in Europe, and continues to feel she herself is a work in progress. :-)   Her work is widely represented in collections both in the U.S. and abroad.
